Over the past two years, we have been working with a very active customer:  a new, growing, upscale boutique/lifestyle hotel company with the financial backing of one of the world's largest private equity firms.  They are seeking architecturally and/or historically significant lodging properties in commercial or resort areas throughout the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions of the country.  This hotel company will renovate and/or restore these properties to a level required to make them "small hotels of distinction".  The result is a melding of modern conveniences, amenities and upscale furnishings, designed around the history and/or architecture of the building.

 

The ideal properties would be:

  Inns or small hotels.  
  30 to 120 rooms.  
  Properties with restaurants & meeting space much preferred, but not required.  
  Located in commercial or resort areas.  
  Underperforming hotels also considered.  
 

Once purchased, these properties will be renovated to four to five star luxury properties with the goal to become the finest place for lodging in terms of quality, service, and amenities in their respective markets.  This new company already owns four such properties, with a fifth under agreement.  Two of the four deals have been done through our company.  The principals of this firm are long-time hotel industry executives with extensive knowledge of New England and Mid-Atlantic markets.
